It’s always an honor to photograph someone’s wedding just as to be asked to photograph an intimate service like a Child’s Christening or Baptism, it’s something l consider very special.
Just like a wedding where everything is happening rather ‘fast’ and can NOT be repeated, so it’s imperative to know exactly what part of the service is about to take place in anticipation, they last a matter of seconds, just like in wedding ceremonies….if you blink you just might miss it
At Christening/Baptism once the sacrament is performed there is NO chance to ask the Priest to do it again, so, precision, timing and experience is so essential.
When l got a text from an anonymous lady who later gave her name as Olivier, to come photograph her lovely son: NOLAN Christening l was very excited, because as a Parent and a father l know the joy of christening a child which is key to Christians as a whole.
I arrived at Peter & Olivier’s home in North London where we started with Nolan’s preparation (such a lovely kid) Olivier pays utmost attention to everything she does and nothing was left to chance. we proceeded to THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH OF ST MARY & ST ANDREW Dollis Hill, North London, where the sacrament took place, it was an all family affair.
Guest and families later converged at Peter & Olivier’s home where everyone were treated to lovely foods and drinks, there was lots of dancing too, all the guest had a fab time.
As a photographer I have to say, one of the delights l get from this art is l get to be present at most special occasions and times in many families lives. it’s always a huge privilege to be able to document them and help create beautiful memories for each families to cherish and treasure….I adore and l LOVE IT!
